Sourdough Starter Kit for Home Bread Baking

Truly a starter kit! It has everything thoughtfully planned out to make sourdough easy to do from the very start[er]! There were tools I have never used and didn't know what they were, but I'm excited to become familiar with using them. Everything looks well made and durable, but we'll see how it holds up over time. Pretty decent haul for the price, and the well-thought out materials will make the sourdough process so much less daunting. Most things are glass, metal, or silicone, so it should all wash pretty well. Me and my kiddos are excited to get started making bread!

This is everything you need minus the Dutch oven. The jar and cloth lid for it are my absolutely fave piece along with the jar stirrer. This is a great set if you’re a nook like me. Pictured is everything it came with minus the dollar tree bin. Pictured is my first loaf in an Amazon Dutch oven and my starter brewing in the jar. Add a warmer if you have stone counters because they slow the process.

If you are new to sourdough bread making this kit might be the way to go. It includes all the tools, basket, bread sling, measuring tools, cooling rack and more that you need to get started making your own bread. Some of the tools seem to be fairly high quality but others are more in the mediocre range. There are lots of parts and pieces so I imagine there had to be some corners cut in order to keep the price reasonable.The kit comes with a recipe booklet that gives step by step instructions on how to use the sourdough starter kit and how to successfully make your own bread. I think this is a great way to learn about sourdough bread making and after learning you can certainly upgrade any pieces or utensils that might not last a long time with heavy use.This kit would certainly make a great gift for someone that already makes homemade bread or for someone aspiring to make that first great loaf. For an all inclusive kit I think the value is there and I would recommend it.

Excellent value for the money. There are many sourdough starter kits out there, but this is definitely one of the best you can get for the money. Excellent quality tools that have everything you may need except the baking pans. Some other kits are more expensive, but include pans for baking. This does not, but if you have a kitchen that would use this, you should already have a baking pan of some sort.It includes the starter jar itself, 2 wicker type proofing baskets, with nice shape of one with an oval and one bowl shape. Many other tools such as measuring cups, flour whisks, a stencil kit for making fancy decorations on the bread, dough scrapers, silicone spatula, cooling rack and more. Another neat addition is a silicone sling to carry the hot bread safely without sticking to anything. It even includes bread store type bags for giving away loaves or storing them. The starter jar has great functionality as it has measurements on the jar as well as a tape measure to measure growth.The whole thing looks great and even has a burlap carrying bag.I'm new to making sourdough, but have made bread at home for many years with a bread machine. This box is stuffed with good quality tools. Everything alone starting to make bread needs. Hoping I can make some successful breads soon, this kit makes it seem easy. I guess I still need the sourdough starter though? This is still confusing.
